- Count your Breath Sit with your back straight and concentrate on your breath. Start counting your breath without changing it (one full cycle of inhale and exhale is counted as one). First day count 50. If you forget start over again. When you have successfully counted 50 breaths three times add 10 more breaths meaning there by now you have to count 60 breaths. When your count reaches 500 successful counting your breath your patience level would have improved a lot.
- Stand in a long Queue Start standing in long queues until and unless long queue do not disturb you mentally. Some of the places may be religious places, Govt. offices, booking places etc.
- Me second approach Whenever possible give other people more preference than “Me First Approach” like, boarding a bus, entering a lift, serving food, giving seat to other in buses etc.
- Observe complete silence for 50 hours No cell phone, no TV, no gadgets, No communication of any kind with anyone for 50 hours.
- Patch up with a Person Patch up with a person who was your friend earlier but you are not in talking terms with that person from some time. Just put your ego aside and send a SMS or call that person that you still remember the good moments of your relationship and want to patch up. You be very cool and calm whatever that person says to you. That is the real test of your patience.
- Postpone Sometime stop yourself for at least 24 hours to share an exciting news or event with someone provided it is not an emergency. Especially in case of negative emotions it is always better to postpone by 24 hours.
- Do not answer Back In interpersonal relationship sometime do not answer back even in a situation when other person is shouting at you without any fault of yours, just to check that if you decide to keep quite can you? (Especially recommended for aggressive people).
